The results for this meeting are in red print for easy skimming. Absent at this meeting were Commissioners Ausbrooks, Mason, Morton, Nations, Story & Williams.

The March 2022 Williamson County Commission meeting will be in person at the Williamson County Administrative Complex auditorium @ 7:00 PM on Monday, March 14th.

This meeting will be also publicly broadcast on the local public TV stations as well as WC-TV accessible on the county website, as well as on YouTube afterward. Go to WC-TV to live stream. There are 16 resolutions under consideration in this month’s meeting. PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTIONS 3-22-1, 2&3

3-22-1 resolution to amend articles 16 and 23 of the Williamson County zoning ordinance regarding sound standards. This resolution refines the definition of sound limits for non-residential uses. It was passed 15 Yes 3 No, No votes by Commissioners Ricky Jones, Dwight Jones & Jerry Rainey.

3-22-2 resolution amending articles 6 and 23 of the Williamson County zoning ordinance regarding natural gas transmission lines. in accordance with Tennessee Annotated code 13-3-414. This resolution codifies that new developments be a min. of 660 ft. from a gas transmission line. It was passed 17 Yes 1 No, No vote by Commissioner Jerry Rainey.

3-22-3 resolution amending article 17 of the Williamson County zoning ordinance regarding Parking Standards. This resolution separates schools and churches out as specific uses with their own parking requirements and allowances from a more general category. I was passed 15 Yes 3 No, No votes by Commissioners Greg Lawrence, Dwight Jones & Jerry Rainey.

3-22-4  resolution approving an intent to fund $15,000,000 for New Construction of the East Cox Elementary School. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-6 resolution appropriating and amending the 2021-2022 County General Budget by $81,706.78 with revenues to come from the Victim Assessment Fees.18 Yes 0 No

3-22-7 resolution appropriating and amending the 2021-22 Election Commission budget by $62,279 with revenues to come from contributions from other governments. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-10 resolution accepting donations and appropriating and amending 2021/22 Animal Control Capital projects budget by $53,859 with revenues to come from donations. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-11 resolution appropriating and amending the 2021/22 Animal Control budget by $1000 – revenues to come from greater good charities for the feline foster heroes 2021 winner. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-14 resolution to raise the compensation paid to Williamson County Election Commissioners from a minimum monthly rate of $65 to $75, effective July 1, 2022. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-15 resolution for American Rescue Plan Act for Broadband funding & guidance as it relates to United Communications.

The Williamson County Commission would allocate a maximum of 15% match, in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000 in co-funding to United Communications, should they be awarded TNECD BB Grants for projects in Williamson County that meet Federal guideline requirements. 18 Yes 0 No

3-22-16 resolution for American Rescue Plan Act for Broadband funding & guidance as it relates to Comcast.

The Williamson County Commission would allocate a maximum of 10% match, in an amount not to exceed $1,725,607 in co-funding to Comcast, should they be awarded TNECD BB Grants for projects in Williamson County that meet Federal guideline requirements. 18 Yes 0 No

All renominations and nominations were unanimously approved.

County Commission meetings are normally held at the Administrative complex at 1320 West Main St., Franklin in the auditorium (East end of bldg) @ 7 PM and generally on the 2nd Mon. of the month. Meeting agendas are available HERE. There is no meeting in December, April, or August. July’s meeting is at 9 am in the morning and is when the tax rate and budget for the upcoming year are approved.

Anyone interested in getting a better understanding of our county resolutions can come to the Budget Committee meetings held on 1st Mondays @ 4:30 pm in the Conference Room across from the County Mayors’ office. In this committee, any resolution with a fiscal consequence is discussed one week prior to being voted on by the Commission as a whole. All Committee meetings are open to the public. Since the advent of Covid-19 the Budget Committee meetings have been electronic and recorded by WC-TV and can be found on YouTube.
